On November 21, 2024, Mr. Vũ Văn Thành, CEO of SPHACY, had the honor of participating in the BRICS 2024 Urban Economic Forum in Saint Petersburg, Russia, as part of a delegation. Notably, the head of the Vietnamese delegation, Dr. Nguyễn Hồng Sơn, former member of the National Assembly’s Foreign Affairs Committee, not only co-chaired the session but also delivered an impressive welcome speech, reinforcing Vietnam’s position in the region and on the global stage.
In his speech, Dr. Nguyễn Hồng Sơn expressed his honor at being invited by the Foreign Affairs Committee of Saint Petersburg to participate in the BRICS 2024 Urban Economic Forum. He emphasized: “This event is not only an opportunity to connect cities and businesses but also a foundation for us to collaboratively build a sustainable, prosperous, and peaceful future.”. Dr. Nguyễn also skillfully tied the forum’s theme to Vietnam’s multilateral diplomatic strategy, especially in light of Prime Minister Phạm Minh Chính’s attendance at the BRICS Leaders’ Summit in Kazan in October 2024. He highlighted that this series of events not only opens up extensive economic cooperation opportunities with Russia and BRICS countries but also reaffirms Vietnam’s commitment to fostering strong economic, political, and diplomatic relationships with partner nations worldwide.
